How to make Dalgona Coffee

Coasters and Mason Jar: Home Sense | Kinfolk Book: Indigo

I hope you are all doing well and feeling healthy and safe during this difficult and crazy time we are living! With most of us following the lockdown regulations and staying home, we are finding new and creative ways to use this time. Most of us are cooking, baking, working out, stepping up our skincare routine and of course, trying one or two viral trends (everyone is baking bread now).

All I have to say is, TikTok made me do this one...

A couple of weeks ago, the Dalgona coffee was making its rounds on all of our TikToks and now, it's starting to show up all over our Instagram feeds as well. As a coffee lover,  I was more and more tempted to try it with each new photo I saw (each one dreamier than the one before!).

I tested it out and tried it and friends, it did not disappoint! I've posted pictures of the first time I tried making it to show how simple it is to make this new coffee trend! If you're interested in trying this delicious (and very instagramable) coffee, I've written the recipe and instructions below. This can be used for both iced and hot coffee.

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp - Instant Coffee (I used a dark roast)
2 Tbsp - Sugar (brown or white)
2 Tbsp - Warm water

Mix all ingredients for about two minutes using a whisk (or mixer), until thick. Set aside.

In a glass, add ice (to liking) and add milk (milk of your preference) until glass is about 3/4 full. Take the whipped coffee and add to the cup with a spoon. Stir and enjoy!
