I can't believe we're halfway through July already. At this point, we've spent more of 2020 inside, working from home! I'm such a homebody so this wfh thing has been perfect for me although I do miss a few things of pre-covid life!
During this time, I've spent some time trying new products and I wanted to share some of my favourites.
BEAUTY
Skincare
During Sephora's spring sale, I picked up a few new products I had been eyeing for awhile, including Caudalie Beauty Elixir and Biossance's Squalene + Vitamin C Rose Oil. I added the Caudalie face elixir for days that I feel like my skin needs that extra boost of moisture. After washing your face and putting on toner, spray two or three spritz on your face before your moisturizer. It helps soothe your skin and helps your complexion glow.
I've also enjoyed adding the rose oil to my PM routine. I find this oil absorbs easily, making it easy to add even in the summer months. Just add a drop or two, and make sure to apply after your night cream.
FRAGRANCE
For those of who know me, know how much I love fragrances, specifically the citrus and fresh ones! I've never been drawn to the overpowering fragrances but would rather the fresh ones. I added two new fragrances to my rotation for the Summer months and I absolutely love them! I've gotten so many compliments on these two.
Replica from Maison Margiela - Springtime in the Park
This perfume is absolutely heavenly for warmer months. Each perfume of the Replica line is meant to take you back to a specific place and time. Springtime in the Park is a delicate fruity floral so it is not overpowering at all. Its key notes are pear accord, Lily of the Valley and musks. It's the perfect every day perfume!
Atelier Love Osmanthus
It's hard not to fall in love with Atelier's gorgeous fragrances! Love Osmanthus is another fruity floral that screams summertime. Its keynotes are Osmanthus, Cedarwood and Lemon (I'm a sucker anytime citrus is featured in a fragrance!). The Osmanthus is a nocturnal flower, that only blooms at night is sourced in China. Because it is fifteen percent pure perfume, it'll last you all day.
HAIRCARE
I'm so excited to have been introduced to this new line that sells at Sephora called Fable & Mane. Handsdown, this is the most luxurious haircare I've ever used. The products are so rich and the essential oils that they use are heavenly. Each product is meant to hydrate, fight frizz, protects against damage, split ends and breakage. This product is vegan, cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging and is part of Clean at Sephora.
This past month, I've tried the shampoo, conditioner, oil and hair mask and each one makes me feel like I just left the salon. If you're looking to show your hair some love, don't walk, run to get this line!
ACCESSORIES
Because I've been working from home, I haven't touched my purses/bags in weeks! Most of them time I've even been forgetting to take my wallet with me since I haven't been in stores! It'll definitely be and be an adjustment now that things are starting to open up again! During this time, we've been doing tons of hikes and walks so I've started using a backpack to store snacks and drinks, especially now that it's Summer, I always make sure to carry my water bottle with me. I've been using Lambert's "MIA" backpack. Lambert is a Canadian and they specialize in vegan leather bags. The Mia is offered in both black and tan; I personally love it in this beautiful cognac tan colour because how luxe the colour looks. You can fit a ton in this backpack while the structure keeps your bag looking chic; it's both practical and beautiful.
Another great Canadian brand I came across this month is The Gift Refinery. They curate beautiful seasonal boxes with amazing Canadian artisans and brands that focus on wellness, beauty and style. Each box includes 7-10 full sized items and this month's Summer box didn't disappoint! It makes such a thoughtful gift or if you feel like treating yourself! This box contained so many goodies that I couldn't even fit into a photo! You are able to sign up for an annual subscription or purchase a season box. If you use code DESIREE15 , you'll receive $15 off your first order. I've linked them here so you can check out this local business!
